Pincer nails, also known as ingrown nails or incurvated nails, refer to a condition where the edges of the toenail curve inward or grow into the surrounding skin. This can cause pain, discomfort, inflammation, and possibly infection. Pincer nails can be caused by a variety of factors including improper nail trimming, wearing tight shoes, genetic predisposition, trauma to the toe, or underlying medical conditions.
